Bruce took care of me earlier this year when my base was cracked...I dealt with him both by e-mail and phone, so he does answer e-mails. And mine was never registered, I didn't have the receipt and I bought it in another town. He told me to choose what Egg dealer I wanted to work with in DFW and let him know.

Bruce responded to my email as well - it wasn't immediate, probably 2-3 days for a response but I wouldn't expect immediate response either. He approved my replacement straight away and I was able to pick up a replacement part that day from my local dealer.

Or just pick up the phone and call Bruce at BGE. He does not answer emails. Both my fire boxes and rings have been cracked for over a year. I still use them 3x a week.

And find another dealer if you have one close.
I've had several email exchanges with Bruce including him approving a warranty that could have easily been denied based on the circumstances.

Bruce has approved the replacement of 3 bases for me via email I am guessing the OP just sent an email to some random email address for BGE.

It's 2016.. If Bruce is so dang good at customer service, email is required.. no offense.

I get the OP's ire. I tried to go direct for an issue, and I LIVE less than 40 min from the HQ's.. Couldn't get an e-mail, or a phone reply from ANYONE at Big Green Egg.

Thankful my dealer was able to take care of me. Slowly.. and surely..
Just drive to HQ with a picture and they replace it on the spot. Really easy.

You've had the egg for 4 years, found a crack in a part that does not render the egg useless, and are calling the product a lemon?  That makes no sense.

Sorry about the issue with your dealer, but you having troubles with them doesn't make the product a Lemon.

Bad choice of subject title, but glad you found the forum.  The guys here will help you out.
Ha. Didn't even notice it was a 4 year old egg. Mine crack within a year or so of when I finally decide to replace them. Both boxes and rings are broken now and have been for a while. Nobody told me they were rendered useless so I just keep cooking on them.
It is true that ignorance is bliss, SWMBO is always telling me I'm the most blissfull guy around. If you leave the fire box and ring in the egg and do not take it out to see how it is doing it will do just fine.
A crack is not the end of the world, hope it all works out.

I'm a dealer. our warranty procedure (i can not speak for other distributors) is to fill out a simple form that does not require a receipt, take a photo of the broken part, and of the code stamped into the part (new for 2016 eggs) and send it in.
