Prime Brisket at Costco $2.89US/pound

I can recall drooling over a post two or three years ago where Prime brisket was $2.99/pound. Best price I was seeing locally was over $5.00/pound. Now that brisket is close to $9.00CDN/pound, I was pleasantly surprised to find Prime brisket for $2.89US/pound.

That is a tremendous price! I was underwhelmed last week with Costco's price in Maryland: $5.15/lb for a choice untrimmed flat. With Passover starting this Friday Costco had lots of brisket, but certainly no specials.

Unreal prices, never seen a packer at my SAMs here in Florida, and for sure never seen a prime brisket.

That's a great price. The lowest I remember in recent times was $2.68/lb ( I think) 2-3 years back.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

Great score @Skiddymarker - - enjoy the cook and banquet.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Man, I wish my Costco sold packers. They only sell flats and I have to go to SAMs to get packers. I get stuck with mediocre pricing on choice. Oh well, I guess I'm just stuck being jealousXL & MM BGE, 36" Blackstone - Newport News, VA

have you checked recently? My Costco used to not carry them as well. They have for about 8 months now and are always about $3/pound. Cant believe I once paid close to $15 (didn't know any better...stopped by a "specialty" butcher...it was the worst brisket I ever cooked....lesson learned).johnnyp said:Man, I wish my Costco sold packers. @busmania - this past week was the first time I've seen packers at Costco in Bellingham. Flats were always available. I guess each store is different...
I always check pork butt as well, it is usually about 1/2 the price we pay in Canada. This week a local grocery store has cryovac pork loins for $2.19CDN a pound, that's about $1.69US - pretty close to the same on both sides of the border.
