That's funny. Your best bet is probably using the 20% off REI members coupon for a Yeti or a Pelican

Someone mentioned that Sam's club sells the Igloo sportsman 55 qt for $199.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I think it was the 40 for $199. Costco.com has the 70 qt for $250, shipped.SmokeyPitt said:Someone mentioned that Sam's club sells the Igloo sportsman 55 qt for $199.LBGE

I believe that RTIC was talking to those who simply knocked on the door in the Houston area and that a retail store was planned for next month here:

@Photo Egg ?
On a random side note- I noticed the "mentions" feature on the site now works for names with spaces. Hopefully that sends a notification.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
@ACN that is a great deal as well if you are already a Costco member.Acn said:

It is the 55 at Sam's but standard shipping (to me) is $11 or so or free store pickup.

That is a really good deal - I got the 40 at Costco for $199, just don't need the 70 or have space to store it or take it camping with us, and it is a much better option than the Yeti too!SmokeyPitt said:

I just ordered a vibe cooler last week and it is shipping today.

I did have a brand new RTIC white 65 that I was looking to pass off at the last Eggfest but I ended up using it as no takers contacted me.bcsnave said:Well..I thought I might try and see if someone ordered two and would be willing to let one go before our vacation
Can't imagine the shipping cost going to WI on this cooler would have been worth your while.
Even if I went by the RTIC office and tried to buy one as my own the shipping would be a killer trying to get it to you...
I can tell you, after using it this weekend it really worked well. Can also tell you it's heavy as hell fully loaded. Worked great leaving it in my Subaru and pulling stuff as needed. But I never even thought about pulling it out of the car myself.
I will no doubt still sell it for another 45qt.
If you want me to follow up with RTIC and see if I can get them to ship one to a brother cheese head and work out repayment from you later let me know.
Would still be a long shot.

Brother that was me. That was a introductory price about 3 years ago. They have went up a good bit since.SmokeyPitt said:Someone mentioned that Sam's club sells the Igloo sportsman 55 qt for $199.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

So tons of people paid months ago to get one but you can just stop by the office and buy whatever you want off the shelf. ??????????Photo Egg saidEven if I went by the RTIC office and tried to buy one as my own the shipping would be a killer trying to get it to you....

"Would still be a long shot."...was my last words. But yes, I would be willing to drive 30 minutes out of my way for the slight chance to help another forum member. I would have done the same for you.

I don't think that was a shot at you, and that sort of effort is one of the great things about this forum. But given the backlog issues RTIC has, it would be pretty damning that they are making people wait months after payment, but would sell to anyone of the street.Photo Egg said:

I am with @Acn. I think @Brisket_Fanatic was merely making the observation that there are all these shipping delays and nobody can seem to get their hands on one. . . RTIC has had their money for months, etc.. . . but you can walk into their office in the states and buy one.

Someone told me that they weren't planning on filling all their backorders before building up their supply for new orders. I told whoever told me that's a recipe for a lot of pissed off customers and a good way to go lose a bunch of them. NO idea if that's true or not.------------------------------------------------------------------------LBGE 2013 - MiniMax 2015 - Seemingly every accessory the fine folks at CGS sell - Fightin' Texas Aggie till I die - Gig 'Em - Located in the bright lights of Dallas

I know people that have ordered RTIC and are waiting and are frustrated.
As far as someone walking in as regular customer, who has ordered from them several times in the past, getting special consideration? This is nothing but good business. I bet every forum member on here has gotten special treatment in the past from a local business they frequent. A better deal on a car, faster car repair service bump, a little extra scoop of something not given to the customer in line next to you? If you have never had this happen to you then maybe, just maybe, you are not a good customer. Or the business just does not care. Or you are just not a nice person to deal with.
I have met @Brisket_Fanatic and I know he is super nice guy.
I also have a couple more coolers on order and I might be able to just have a couple of mine bumped for several months in exchange for @bcsnave cooler.
There are options that local regular customers might have over one time non local buyers.
Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
@Photo Egg Darian - this was in no way a shot at you as you are a very stand up guy and I deleted some of quote so the main point was there. I apologize if it came off that way. I was simply trying to make a point that if PAID customers are not being shipped merchandise simply to have some in-stock for a showroom not meant for retail sales is a bad business decision. This is a sure fire way to isolate investors in your company. Favortism for an established company happens all the time but it should not happen when making customers whom have purchased product wait for no apparent reason. I know you would help out most anyone as that is just the kind of person you are and I for one would great appreciate it. I have purchased and received my original cooler from the day @SGH posted the link. I have since reordered more stuff because of the quality and I had no issue with waiting again. I also wouldn't expect them to ship it to me more quickly simply because I am a repeat customer.
Anyway I hope I didn't affend you and it was just a case of misread text lost in translation.

The moral of the story is if you're planning to gift someone a cooler for Christmas, you better order now.
