Costco Prime Brisket Packer

Just picked one up for 2.29/lb. I saved so much money, I will get a SRF next week. I am out of SRF Brisket.
I also bought two boneless pork butts at 1.69/lb. my new freezer is filling up!

Damn. My wife uses that logic too. I got this on sale and saved money!  If she would just buy SRF brisket...

These are the times you have to run with it, until they catch you, @blind99 =)

@YukonRon - that's a steal...I may have to take a short road trip today to conduct a brisket harvest.  Thanks for the info-

  • I've yet to see one here at the Costco in Durham, NC.  I'll have to see if my luck has changed.

I'd love to do a prime packer.  Costco, Sam's, Kroger, Publix all sell only flats here in Knoxville.  I've asked at Costco and Sam's and the answer is the same, "We used to sell whole packers, but we don't anymore."  I can only find packers at Walmart and they're choice, though I've never had a bad one.  They usually run about $2.49/lb.

@YukonRon- Okay, SWMBO is on a Costco run.  She is well-trained in picking out floppy, best even trimmed flat and not over loaded with fat prime briskets (not doing the left or right sided cut here).  I expect the call from the meat counter soon. Also requested a look for the Costco ribeye cap.
Hope you didn't clean them out yesterday.
Edit:  Packers (prime) were 2.99/lb today and the selection was not that great-passed.  But they did have some sweet looking ribeye caps-got two around 3 lb packages (16.99/lb) for the near-term.  Gonna be some great eats.

Cap, the one I got yesterday was coming up on bingo for the day to sell. I saw a couple nice ones, and just got one, I picked up a couple of outstanding boneless butts (8/lbs+) for cheap as well. Will be doing one of them for the Bonnie Rait party, prior to her show.
