Here we go again-just after I jumped on the last sale and managed to keep away from this one.  Of course, it will never end...but that's a good thing.  
(I guess I could turn off the e-mail alerts but what's the fun in that...)

I will need to be careful with the brisket sale- I have 3 in inventory (2 SRF black and a Costco prime).  The larger issue is that I had a SRF delivery last week and already have another in the queue for two weeks from now.  
SWMBO has never pushed back on SRF buys and no way do I want that to change.  But "nothing ventured, nothing gained."  Time will tell.  

I need a new freezer. The last 14 lbs of bacon has me busting at the seams. I still have not had the good fortune to try any SRF items. One day.

Indirect at 225F with oak to 100F internal. Then pull and rest while you get coals red hot and cook to 120F with a grate as close to the coals as possible and get your crust. I have a 12" grate I lay directly on the hot coals like in the picture below.

If if you do that, make sure it warms up quite a bit. 

Finally, expect shrinkage. About 20%.  But at about 18oz, that is 2 portions - the meat is incredibly rich.

Pumped.  Just ordered my first SRF bone in ribeye.  Had a $30 store credit and free shipping so I scored it for $19!  The wife and I are going to eat good on Friday!

Hey @bhedges1987  - They're 2 different brands that come from the same company.  

Double R Ranch comes from a variety of continental cattle.  The actual Double R Ranch is located in Washington state.   We believe it's better than typical "commodity beef" because we tightly manage and control all the aspects of the production cycle from the genetics, through the feeding and production.  We carry primarily choice grade (except the bone-in ribeye which is prime) though we'll be rolling out more Double R prime options soon.  

Snake River Farms is "american Kobe" which is a 50/50 mix of wagyu and black angus.  On the website we carry black and gold grade, which are both rated well above prime in terms of marbling.  SRF is located on the Snake River in Idaho.   There's a good background on SRF in this recent Gear Patrol article:  http://gearpatrol.com/2016/02/18/the-marbled-secret-to-americas-juiciest-steaks/ 

So - basically the difference is in the genetics of the cattle.  SRF beef will be more marbled with a slightly different taste that is often considered more "buttery" and "beefy".

I ordered some Ribeye filets  the a few weeks back when they were on sale and had them for Valentine's.
Saw they had them again the Monday after Valentine's and ordered a couple more.
They are really good.

Hey YukonRon, are you on commision with SRF?  Would like to know their spike in sales after your post.  Had to be considerable judging by the posts on here, and that doesn't account for those who ordered and didn't post.
