OT - Yeti Lowball

Bought the Lowball at a local Field & Stream.  
Looks to be a nice coffee cup so far (Haven't made the Bourbon test run yet).
I don't like my coffee piping hot and the open top allows for some cooling.  
Just thought I'd share...

    Grabbed one at the local Academy Sports store on 10/2.  Bourbon test was fine-absolutely zero leakage thru the bottom of the lowball.  Bourbon consumed prior to a true assessment of the staying power for the one rock used in the test.
    More tests on-going.  Low earth orbit in sight.   ;)
    Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

    I have a bunch of Substation Techs that work for me...they bought the YEDI cups.  Funny they were all leaving them on their desks full of ice water, running a contest to see how many days the ice would last...and using their Tervis tumblers during the day for their normal drinks.  I like my Tervis tumblers for bourbon & water in my woodshop (after work) as they don't leave marks on my cast iron saw tables and equipment.

    @caliking - I think that at around 10 ounces per beverage you should be well enabled with this "not necessary" open top container.  Forget the insulation properties, just start pounding a few 10 ounce brown adult beverages and see how it goes.  Then picture yourself stylin' with a much more climate changing protected container.  YMMV-  ;)

    My family (me on occasion) drink all types of martinis.  From time to time we get distracted and the drink gets to room temperature relatively quick.  Do you think this could be used for martinis to extend the life of the drink?  I'm thinking about Christmas gifts already.  Both the Rambler and then to add this.

    $25 is a lot for a cup. But like @sgh said they simply work, really well. I'm getting some to add to my rambler collection.

    I agree that the price point is high but if they can get it...
    BTW-I doubt I will ever truly experience its benefits as I consume the adult beverages it was purchased for at a fairly quick pace.  That said, it's my Christmas present to me a few months early.  FWIW-

    For me, a lifetime of something working exceptionally well and not having to worry about replacing it someday, is well worth the mark up.

    $25 for a quality cup.  In the grand scheme of things not such a bad deal.

    Decent bottle of scotch is double that.  Funny thing, my favorite thing about my Yetis is the room temp human to drink interface.  My hand never gets cold or hot.

    $1000 or more for xl.   I have a yeti cozie.  $30.  But it works great.   Can is still cold when you remove it empty.

    I think they have to price them high as they know they will only sell a consumer a handful, likely 1-2 as they will last a lifetime, there is no real repeat business short of gifting to friends...
