Haven't tired it. It's $39 for a 18 pound bag on Amazon, what is you dealer sealing it for? Also I didn't know dealers sold KAB before. Mine doesn't, but the sell GrillGrates.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.

I paid 19.99 for an 18# bag.it was the first time that I came across that type at the egg shop.

I get it at restaurant depot. It is Great lump, I pay $12.00/bag for it. I use it and Rockwood. I buy it by the boatload each time I go there. I have around 10 bags right now, and only 2 bags of Rckwood."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

We don't have a restaurant depot around here but i've it mentioned on the forum. Looks like I paid to much as usual but at least you give it a good reviews. THANKS

I gave a couple bags out to my friends, they love it. They are not members of RD, and they ask me to go buy them some each time I go. They used BGE and Royal Oak previously, won't go back."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

I was using royal oak and need a bag of coal, l'm glad I got it. Can't wait to try it.what is this restaurant depot? Something like a sam' or cost-co
thanks again for the info. -
The best I can figure it is a wholesale outlet for restaurants. They have bulk quantities of everything you will need. I go there for major meat purchases, always prime or above, thus far I have found, and metal trays for various uses on the BGE. I think you have to own a business to get sign up, and I think if you have affiliations with some BBQ associations that will qualify as well. Prices are great on some things, (whole beef tenderloins around $10.00/lb. and specials from time to time."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

I really like the Carbon Del Sur lump. I'd compare very close to Rockwood. Will burn very hot if you let it. Very good on pizza!
There's a place around here that had the KAB, Smokeware Caps, Ceramic Grill Works rigs, Carbon Del Sur, BGE Lump,& Forest Lumps charcoals. Definitely a place that has and will continue to take a lot of my $$.LBGE since 2014

@luckyboy where are you located? The egg shop here just started carrying carbon del sur as well. I asked them why the switch and they said the distributor had a hard time getting thr BGE branded stuff so they bought Del Sur instead.luckyboy said:Thanks for the info.

I live in Ravenel, SC. About 20 miles south of charleston. The dealer is located in MT. Pleasant, SC. I went there to get a ash basket when I noticed the new the new lump next to the green egg lump. The salesman started his sales pitch saying that was better than the egg lump. He.didn't mention any problems with egg lump. I had quit with the egg lump because what I was buying was just crumbles instead of good lump. Several fellow eggers gave the carbon del sur very good ratings. I hope this answers any questions.Good talking with you.

I thought prime was the highest grade. What do they call meat above Prime?YukonRon said:I go there for major meat purchases, always prime or above,

As far as the USDA grading system goes, Prime is the highest. However independent graders/sellers go higher than prime. At the upper echelon of the grading arena stands Akaushi, Wagu and Wagyu Gold. These are the pinnical of beef.Mikee said:I thought prime was the highest grade. What do they call meat above Prime?Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

The greatest barrier against all wisdom, the stronghold against knowledge itself, is the single thought, in ones mind, that they already have it all figured out. -
Would it be select? That is a question for Yukon Ron.
