Ono fish and acorn squash


Ono fish needs to be steamed or SV. Tough fish and a fast one i hear. The veg. Was amazing; the fish needs work.

    I wasnt sure what a Ono was. A little googling revealed that it is what we call Wahoo. The word "Ono" is Hawaiian for "good to eat". I learn something new everyday......

    Me too. I knew it was a Hawaiian word and I knew it was good to eat - but I didnt know it was wahoo.

  • Nice cook for sure Ono is an awesome fish! I have caught them several times. If it was tuff you may have over cooked it and next time cut out that dark blood line before you cook it. Last year at the Mini Fest in Melbourne FL I bought some fresh Ono caught that day, sliced very thin raw and topped with a little pickled ginger and wasabi, it was the sushi I have ever had. :)
