I have a very similar model. Works well.

That's a good price. I just picked up the baby brother at costco yesterday for $60.Chicago, IL - Large and Small BGE - Weber Gasser and Kettle

I have this one - it's pretty good. Really my only complaint is that at times it's a bit slow to sense and grab the bag for sealing.
But if you don't have a foodsaver yet, get one. It will change your life."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

My only knock is sometimes that retractable hose is a PITA, but I haven't used it very often.

I bought this same model from BJ's for $145. It came in handy when I had to freeze 25 pounds of Hatch Chiles. I have been using it for marinating too.XL, Large, Medium, and Mini Max

Nice price, wish I didn't have my current one so I could get this one.
You can get a box of them at Sam's. It comes with like 2 or 4 roles of the 11", 2 roles of the 8" and some bags for about the $40. Her it is. I have had good luck with them.blind99 said:does anyone have experience with generic refill rolls? i was thinking of these:

If you want to stay with OEM rolls, check out the Foodsaver website. A couple of months ago they had a number of "two-for-price-of-one" sales going on ... plus free shipping.

@milesvdustin I got the 2100 a few weeks ago. On sale at costco it was $60. Can't speak to long term durability but it is simple to use and seems to do the trick.Chicago, IL - Large and Small BGE - Weber Gasser and Kettle

I don't know how I lived without one before. It makes leftovers perfect, freeze extras, send home guests with goodie bag leftovers, well worth the $$spent.

Are those lower cost models worth it? I dont really need one to marinate, just save deer i kill and bulk food.

@milesvdustin ... the first and only vacuum bagging unit I've owned is the one listed above, so can't offer any opinions on the more inexpensive units. Sorry.

I missed out on the deal too. I ended up going to Craigslist and found a new in-box 4800 for $50. I haven't tried it out yet but I have 20# of pork belly in the fridge that will go in the cure today. That should be a good first test.L x2, M, S, Mini and a Blackstone 36. She says I have enough now....eggAddict from MN!
