Took two hens brined in beer with salt/sugar combo dusted with Dizzy Pig

. Added roasted leaks and squash for a great Sunday dinner. Never did a beer brine with Hens before but was real good.

'brine' or 'marinade' (as in 'marine') usually means the liquid has enough salt to give a fighting chance of actual penetration by osmosis. did you taste any beer IN the meat, or do you think it ended up more like a bath, on the outside?

@evie1370 Great looking grub. I especially like those squash. Nothing better than grilled squash. How did you like the Dizzy Pig?

It was very good. Not too spicy and did real well with the hens. It is becoming a favorite.SGH said:@evie1370 Great looking grub. I like especially like those squash. Nothing better than grilled squash. How did you like the Dizzy Pig?Medium BGE in Cincinnati OH.

I really did not pick up much except it gave it a bit of flavor. We used Blue Moon and I swear I picked up a slight citrus taste. But all was very subtle.Darby_Crenshaw said:'brine' or 'marinade' (as in 'marine') usually means the liquid has enough salt to give a fighting chance of actual penetration by osmosis. did you taste any beer IN the meat, or do you think it ended up more like a bath, on the outside?Medium BGE in Cincinnati OH.
