Likely to be my first cook on new Eggs

Dang but this recipe looks really good to me.  Fairly simple cook, so I will likely try it very early in my Egg learning curve.  The Eggs are being delivered tomorrow.  I will do the prescribed burn-ins with no cooking then give this a try.

Man, I had no idea how addictive this Egg thing could be and I haven't even got them yet.

That looks awesome. Gonna try it this weekend. With pics like this, can't be bad.

This is the pic that sold me on it, after it was coated in BBQ sauce.

Extra Large and Medium are just waiting for me to say "Deliver".  Been working on my table for the last two weeks.  I had hoped to have them tomorrow, but I have postponed til next week.  Just waiting for the 5th coat of Spar Varnish to tighten up a little more.

Good decision, get it right the first time and do not do it over. Also good choice on the combo of EGGs.

Unless you need to cook about a million of them, do 'em on the medium. I suspect these are best done "raised, indirect." If you don't have an extra grill, or other accessory, it will be good if you get one. Essentially, the food should be cooked near the dome gasket level, with just about anything below to shield from the direct heat from the lump.

Basic "MacGyver" would be to use 3 beer cans, empty of course, on the fire ring, w. the grill balanced on them. The tricky part: use a disposable foil pan, make some coat hanger hooks, and dangle that beneath the grill.

The onion balls will bake, but they might need to be rolled once or twice during cooking for an even doneness.

@gdenby thanks for the tips.  I have been putting together a list of accessories I would like to have and your post has made me think of a few more.

Good thing I don't have any other hobbies besides fishing (have the boat) and traveling (have the RV), cause this Egg addiction could get costly in a hurry.  Would hate to have to sell the boat to support my new addiction.
