An idea for the old gasser besides storage...

Saw this product on Amazon...reviews look great. The recent Blackstone Griddle thread has me wanting a griddle--but without a covered area, I'm thinking i'll have a lot of problems with rust with the Blackstone.
What do you guys think about this? Worth giving it a shot?

I bought that exact one then returned it. It's great but requires a cleaning often. It's awkward to fit into even the larger sinks when cleaning. I opted for this one instead which is the same but smaller. With their clearance promotion, you essentially get it shipped free

Now you got me thinking !!!!! This looks interesting. I've just been using some small perforated grilling tray things that I bought at Walmart for vegs and stuff. They are not really big enough for some of the throwdowns I get into. I'll have to go back and look through the Blackstone thread now !!!!!!!
I have a 20" CI skillet for my XL. but when using it, it consumes my whole egg. Using a griddle like this on my gasser - accessory storage unit could be a viable option.

That is a great idea! BTW that one is a knock off of the Griddle Q brand that has been around for some time. Here is my square one that fits down in my large egg. Since I bought mine they now may a "kettle style that fits the egg even better.

I am pretty sure that the Little Griddle is made by the fine folks who make the Griddle Q.RRP said:That is a great idea! I'll check it out--it might be a little small for what I'm looking for. I do have one of those massive basin tubs in the laundry room--hopefully I wouldn't have a problem with cleaning.biggreenrob said:I bought that exact one then returned it. If you have a large sink then you are set. This is what the size looked like on my Weber gasser. It fit great. Good luck.chrisc133 said:

Consider pulling an uncle Si Roberson on it.....(when he bought a new truck) he blew his old one up with dynamite.....might be a bit extreme but an option just the same.Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax

FWIW I think the best way to clean the griddle would to be clean it in place while hot like they do at the Japanese steak house. That is how I clean the blackstone (no choice really- I don't have a 36 x 21 inch sink!).

You don't need a sink to clean those. Do you think folks put the blackstone griddle in the sink to clean? Scrape it, then use a sponge or rag. Oil it, done.
But if you insist....all the world is a sink if you have a hose....and we are merely players...

I went ahead and purchased. With Amazon Prime Day I was able to get an extra $20 bucks off the price. I guess I need to look through the Blackstone thread to get some ideas for some good accessories....unless one you Blackstone guys can save me some time and suggest the best griddle accessories...Augusta, GA

They do make one that is egg shaped - I haven't measured, but seems like its made to fit the large egg - http://www.littlegriddle.com/Kettle-Q-Stainless-Steel-Griddle-p/kq17r.htm

HoustonEgger ...I like it !!! I need one for my gasser though. I usually have the egg loaded up when I am ready to use a griddle for various veg's and stuff.

I saw that..it's a nice option for anyone looking for an egg griddle. I personally use this for my Classic Joe...not sure how it would fit in the BGE...but it's cast iron and was inexpensive.HoustonEgger said:They do make one that is egg shaped - I haven't measured, but seems like its made to fit the large egg - http://www.littlegriddle.com/Kettle-Q-Stainless-Steel-Griddle-p/kq17r.htm

Glad to see somebody found something they wanted on prime day! That was a lot of hype for the amazon garage sale.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

They were giving a $10 gift card with purchase of a 3 pack of Amazon gift cards. Could buy three $15 cards and get $10 back. That was the only deal I found worthwhile. Otherwise, overhyped and underdelivered.SmokeyPitt said:Glad to see somebody found something they wanted on prime day!
