I've been drinking whiskey since like 11:30 so I'm lucky I didn't burn my hair off. Best I can tell, this was tasty. Wish I had so e garlic butter. These were seared in the CI with butter. @Mattman3969 yup, right on the coals, it doesn't fit on the MM so I just stuck it on the coals, then closed her down for the roast. First time doing it that way. Worked out just fine.

Reflecting on this with a little more clear head, this method really worked well for trex. I got a nice hot searing surface without superheating the egg. Still had some rest time, but the temp was back down and under control fairly quickly. I'll repeat this method.

Bob, it's one I use only on the egg so the bottom isn't the best seasoned anyway. Nothing a little oil doesn't cure afterwards. The inside is just fine.
