Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Let's see what we have cooking for today. I started last night at 9:00 with an 11 lb. pork shoulder. Temps got away for a few hours early, but it stabilized overnight and held 250° for hours. Took it off 16 hours later and it almost fell to pieces just taking out of the Egg. I'm still amazed with how much lump was left. I had it filled to just below the top of the fire ring. Cheers everyone!!

Lots of great grub. I should add my pulled pic. Made some slaw, and a Kansas City sauce from amazingribs. This was a winner. Served with some

I did not take pictures of my fathers da dinner. Why you ask? I left it up to the mrs. So I got sloppy joes for dinner. Yeah I know. Did a 6lb butt for the family and my dad. His present was the pulled pork. He's used to the carp from chains, so the bar is set low. I've got pork butt down, so he was in heaven.
I went turbo, as I get excellent results in a fraction of the time. 350 for 4 hours and she was done. Bone practically fell out and bark was crunchy and perfect.
My father's day present was getting to cook on the grill, and I'm just fine with that. I just got a f ok finished pick as once it was pulled, everyone was clamoring for food. I made some Dead Guy Sauce to top it (recipe below), the wife made baked beans and Cole slaw. Damn fine meal.
