By the way, what is it with the xxxxx345 screen name if it's a 349 excavator? It's not nice to screw with an old man ... geez.

I don't think I've ever posted in this thread and haven't read it to the best of my recollection, so this may have already been covered.... But shouldn't the answer to this question always be "looking at the egghead forum"?

@theyolksonyou ... just pulling your leg on the carpeting Jason.
But not on equipment operating. My father was a heavy equipment operator. That's what I wanted to do until a fantastic high school teacher redirected me. Took me ten years, but I eventually circled around and ended up working for a heavy equipment company. One of the benefits was that I had to be able to operate the equipment we were testing. Every day was different ...

I got to operate dozers everyday for a year. First 3 months was bliss. After that it got to be like any other job, except I didn't share a cube and I had great views from my windows.theyolksonyou said:@Jeepster47 fortunately every day is different for me, but if I could spend a few days in a dozer or track hoe...
I wasn't in a production environment so if I was getting bored or frustrated I would dig a hole big enough to bury the dozer. Park in it for a few minutes then drive out and fill it in. That was always fun.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

@NPHuskerFL looked to be a 300+ ton air cooled that a crane lost about 30 floors up. It bounced off the building a few times. 10 folks got hurt.
