the wife picked up a whole chicken told me to try something new on the egg. Well since I have a ton of cedar planks why not rubbed under skin of chicken with butter put some dizzy dust on the bird set up indirect why I don't know will probably limit the cedar flavor cooking it at 250 we will see

Interesting approach to chicken.
I have a pile of cedar planks here and might have to give this a try. Bookmarked and following. Living the good life smoking and joking -
Interesting approach, waiting to hear how it goes. I’ve chop shopped a whole chicken (parted it out) and cooked the pieces on a plank. I cooked raised direct at 350ºF, alder plank was charred and the chicken picked up lots of flavour, never tried cedar other than with seafood.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

To us Canucks that’s $1.25CDN per pound! We have had to buy poultry and eggs in Canada for the last couple of months as there is some avian flu outbreak in WA, ID, MT. Our price is usually between $1.99 and $2.99CDN per pound. Oysters here on the “left” coast are served in the shell, no cooking required, what are you thinking of doing with them?
tomorrow is planked salmon....Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad! -
@skiddymarker I love oysters on the half shell we get them all the time here from appalacicola florida about 2 hrs away but the restaurants here are in tourist mode 15 bucks a dozen raw so I thought I would buy a box eat raw and do some on egg with butter parm cheese bacon but have no idea how to do it what temp etc but I will just give a try nothing bad on eggLarge egg panhandle of florida
