What kind of knife is...oh, nevermind.
Looks like great food - and tons of it. Good break in for the vault.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
@cazzy
Nice man. So, how you like the vault for your brisket? The smoke profile better than egg? Pro and cons?XL BGEJoe JRBaltimore, MD -
Sorry for the delay. I started off w/ a small amount of rock wood, then went straight sticks from there on out.Lit said:you are running straight wood?
After the stick burnt out, I broke it down with a shovel to make a new coal bed.

my brisket game just went to the next level, mainly because of the smoke profile. Yes...I've never had this level on an egg, mainly because I cooked with wood for 90% of the cook as lump was only used to get the ball rolling.GATABITES said:@cazzy

Pros: the ability to run straight wood is awesome. Access to the fire box throughout the cook. Easy to maintain.
Cons: it was more work...like offset work but a lil more efficient. I was adding a stick every 90 minutes. However, this is what I wanted as I wanted to run it like an offset. The vault can be just like the egg....add a large bed of fuel in an L shape and let if go for 14 hours without adding fuel.Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ.... -
Thanks for the info gonna try this. That entire cook looks insane.cazzy said:

@cazzy yeah I have a backwoods fatboy vertical. Been running just lump in it though didn't even think about trying wood.

You're right of course. I'm sure most people here wish they'd never seen this cook. Maybe next time we can convince Cazzy to cook some tri-tip on his Egg instead. Maybe make some sushi.Big_Green_Craig said:None of this was Egg'd. Move along to the next forum..."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike
