Just received a anonymous package in the mail. It contains what looks to be a home made rub, a commercial rub and a sauce. It has to be from someone on this forum. Who ever it is from, I thank you. I tasted the home made rub. It is outstanding. I'm hoping that one of the brisket gods just sent me their secret rub. Again thanks. I do wish that you would name yourself so I can return the favor.

SGH, it's pretty simple. You pay it forward every day. You put a lot of effort and your own personal life out there for us to share and learn from. I'll say this. Your posts make others feel great about their own efforts. I didn't send it but I wish I had thought to.Columbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum.

That's pretty cool. Nice to be well respected and appreciated. I got an unexpected package in the mail one time and it turned out to be dog food samples. Not sure when the dog ordered it.

God, you are lucky.
the only stuff I ever get is either stuff I ordered because I wanted it, or junk I don't want.
I never get good "free stuff" in the mail, I only get junk I don't want or need.

My first thought is that it is either from Cen-Tex or cazzy. Why? The first stamped postmark on it is Houston, Tx. Whomever it is from, I honestly really appreciate it. Going to give the home made rub a try this weekend either on a brisket or a small clod. Don't know if you can see it in the pic or not, but "udder madness" is wrote on the plastic bag with a magic marker.

It is close to the April 15 filing deadline. Maybe it was Uncle Sam saying thanks for all you do! j/k, of course. You deserve it, and to whomever sent it, a tip of the cap to you. That was a very nice gesture.

Brother, Uncle Sam really got in my pocket deep this year. I almost hate to use this term, but I was truly "devastated" when I found out what I owed.mahenryak said:Maybe it was Uncle Sam saying thanks for all you do!Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

It was unbelievable this year @SGH. My ass is still raw from getting raped by the IRS.

@nolaegghead probably shouldn't open any anonymous packages sent his way

Yes, I confess that I remember having seen you comment on this in another post, SGH. That's what made me think of it today. For what it's worth, I've been there before--not as profoundly large as your numbers would bear out, I'm quite certain--but bad enough, nonetheless. Never fun, but now you have some awesome rub to enjoy and fine sentiments, to boot.SGH said:

Let's just say I'm knocking on the 1%'s door. We take zero deductions during the year so our take refund is pure "play money" since we budget and save without it in the equation.loveTheEgg said:So u must have paid in ten....

As you know, my FIL is a CPA. He talked us into moving away from that strategy. We did the same in our 20's, but now, he rides us as close to the red without going over. Paychecks are fatter and we accrue interest, not Uncle Sam.Eggcelsior said:

Yeah but usually the first place to stamp a package is the "major hub". I can mail something to you from my local post office in Saucier, but when you get it the first stamp on it will be from Gulfport instead of Saucier. I could be wrong, but I bet something sent out of Austin, depending on its destination would go through Houston first. Nonetheless, whomever sent it, I really do appreciate it and would like to return the favor in kind.cazzy said:
