I need to get a pair of game shears for Spatch. Do you have a recommendation for a good pair? I want to get this right the first time.

I use these and they work well.http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-Jobsite-Offset-Scissors-48-22-4040/205218098

They're not specifically game shears, but they worked a heck of a lot better than my Fiskars utility shears.
I've only done a couple of chickens with these.

Brother, you can cut sheet metal with these. They are as heavy duty as it gets. They are overkill for most meat cutting tasks but I like them. You can snap turkey bones with these. You asked for the best, here they are.

Who makes those @SGH ? That's the style I want as it's easy to clean. It's hard to tell quality looking on the net

@SGH where did you get those?Large BGE - 2014

These are the 10" Heavy duty Victorinox. Not the 9" version, they are junk. I promise you, this is as good as it gets.

Check out both KaTom and webrestaraunt and see who has them on sale. Just be sure to get the 10" if you want the good ones. Even if you have to wait on them to be back ordered. It's worth the wait.LKNEgg said:@SGH where did you get those?Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

Thanks for the information posted on the Victorinox shears. The Katom website lists them but gives no specs regarding length. Are these the ones?

That's it. I found them but am trying to find a way to avoid the $12 shipping.

I highly recommend getting ones that come apart easily for cleaning.

its alot quicker and easier to spatch a bird with a big knife
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
This. Takes me a few seconds with a heavy Chef's knife. I bought poultry shears a few years ago and have never taken them out of the case. At least it's nice to look at when I open the drawer. Plus, they were deeply discounted at Williams Sonoma, so I only paid 10 bucks for the paperweight.fishlessman said:its alot quicker and easier to spatch a bird with a big knife
