Have you ever went out to light the grill and cook for some friends coming over and went to check the fire only to find out you forgot to take the cap off the dome??? Yeah, that was this guy tonight. Nothing like your portion of supper being ready 15 minutes after everything else.

Congrats on only 15 minutes-mine goes the other way. It was a Sunday morning shortly after waking up and attending to business that I was reminded that I had prepped, cooked and consumed several (number unknown) ABT's. And they were made with chorizo and habanero cheese to compound the casualty. Clearly there were adult supervisory beverages at work. "Feel the burn!"Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. At Dizzyfest in November I couldn't figure out why the XL I was cooking on was taking so much longer to light than mine at home. Took me a good 5 or 10 minutes for me to finally realize I still had the lower draft door fully closed...They/Them

Last year for the Super Bowl we had the mother in law and her husband over. Pizza on the egg. Made it up, walked out to slide it on and splat. Face first on the patio, all while he stood there, not missing a best said, "now whatcha gonna do?" So I ordered papa johns. He hates papa johns. ****.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

I was really confused why my Egg was only at 200 degrees. I had all the vents open, plenty of lump, and what looked like a raging fire going inside. Then I realized the needle had just wrapped around and the egg was actually somewhere north of 900 degrees. And yes, I do hold a doctorate in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, you ****."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

I was PUSHING my egg in it's pretty new table back into the garage when a wheel broke off and all came crashing down. I screamed like a little girl and my neighbor and his brother came rushing over to make sure I was ok. Luckily only my ceramic cap, my fire ring and my remote thermo were injured. Oh, and my pride...

Like @Legume indicated earlier, I had a sweet shot of a nicely brined pork chop with a raspberry sauce and mistakenly placed a clean (but alleged dirty)fork in the plate.
I haven't cooked or taken a picture since. The pain is still there.------------------------------

Helplessly watching my dome fly off after changing the gasket on my medium.

I left a sparky piece of charcoal in. . It was best of the west.. i figured it would stop sparking. Opened my lid to find chicken breast that was coated in ash. We ordered pizza.

Funny stuff here, for sure! Mine was with the in-laws--wife and son kept bragging to sis-in-law (wife's sister-twisted sister is what I call her) how awesome my pork chops were, cut em with a fork, yadda, yadda. Anyway, I did them for her and they were not from my usual place--long story short, those damned things were tough as leather and nasty. Twisted sister just sort of had a look on her face like "really--awesome, huh?"

First off, I am almost always at least 15 minutes late!
Here is a bonehead move I have done twice. It is somewhat egg related. When reheating pulled meat in simering water in food saver bags, I removed the bag and shook off the excess water. Well, i was shaking it with a sealed side down and the weight broke the seal and I dumped 2 lbs of pulled pork into a pot if water. I used a collander to salvage it...but it tastes like boiled meat.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
Same...minus the doctorate which is probably why I didn't notice the raging fire going on inside. Lifted the dome followed by my head with the intent of determining what was wrong. Singed hair and eyebrows. Lesson learned.JohnInCarolina said:I was really confused why my Egg was only at 200 degrees. One of my first lessons was learning to burp the egg! I did not have eyebrows and arm hair the first 4 months of ownership--I am a slow learner.
