Stopped by to visit a frequent flier on our unit for a cup of coffee. She's Italian......and from Brooklyn. lol

She's got a great heart, and doesn' take **** from anybody! She's smoked since the age of 16, and her enclosed porch and Benson & Hedges are what makes her happy. Similar to us, with our eggs and patios. At this point, smoking cessation is not an option.
Well this is what I saw during that visit. She uses a walker. There is indoor/outdoor carpeting on top of plywood, then more indoor/outdoor carpeting on top of that??? Unacceptable.

Day one was tearing out all of the old junk and putting down 1/4" Hardibacker.

Sorry, for some reason it posted, midpost????Day two was installing the Shaw vinyl planks. Thought this combination would work well in all the elements in a high traffic area. Here are the finished pics.....

Took my time, did a good enough job to opt out of quarter round. Even spray painted her table with high temp green grill paint. lol
Inspired on this project by Eric Gibbs, a flooring contractor who instead of doing a bucket challenge, installed an entire house of carpet for a lady with Cystic Fibrosis. Labor and materials all payed for."Isabella" was crying at the end of this one. Good stuff.BrandonQuad Cities

Thanks man, was trying to be cost effective without being too cheap on this one. Even held off buying a $20 masonry blade and used utility blades to score the hardibacker instead. hahahahahatheyolksonyou said:Nice. Next time use Mohawk and support a fellow egger

I hope you realize that was a joke. Very kind gesture and although I do work for Mohawk, I certainly understand cost is a factor.

Thanks ladies and gents for the kind words. She's a wonderful lady, love her like my own.Guess it could be considered a home health safety eval while visiting, requiring intervention. She tried to pay for materials, but I fought her tooth and nail..and won. Did I mention she's Italian, and from Brooklyn.
