Drip pan for packer brisket

I have not done brisket. How deep a drip pan do I need?

Shallow is fine. The brisket doesn't put off much drippings. Or the 1 brisket I have egged didn't.

Whatever size you use (depth would depend on the surface area as well but unless you inject you won't get near as much renderings as a butt), make sure you get an air-gap between the pan and plate setter or whatever you use as a heat deflector. Don't need to burn the drippings. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

I use one, don't let it set on the plate setter , helps if anything maintain temp IMO...I fill the pain with water and brothVisalia, Ca @lkapigian
