xxl egg

I thought I wanted a xxl egg.Went by a dealer on Tuesday that had one in stock so now after looking at one I'm on the fence. It would definitely be a want and not a need.It would be nice to have and would look great on your patio but I think I'll wait.

I saw one at my Dealer yesterday actually....

I'd buy an XL and a L, or 3 Larges, or some other combination of "multiple eggs" before spending $5,800 on the XXL.

    Just my $0.02

  • That's way over priced you can get them a lot less than that. That's not far from double the price.

KC BBQ Store was selling the XXL package for $3999.00 when I was there in July.  I think $5800.00 is way over priced.

And Roswell Hardware in ATL is selling XL packages for $1099 (egg, nest, ash tool, grill gripper, bag of lump, and fire starters).  I'd still rather buy almost 4 XL's than 1 XXL.

@Monaarts...at that price are you sure that is an XL? What you describe is what a L sells for up here. Heck of a deal if XL!

Agreed- 2 XLs is close to 50% more cooking space than 1 XXL.  The price-to-value just doesn't add up.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

@Lit - WOWSER! just proves being closer to the Mothership cuts freight charges, but I also wonder if they deal direct vs. other dealers who have a distributer in-between who have skin in the game!

  • @Lit Just had Midwest Eggfest and a demo Large without a platesetter was $824. Shipping and a middleman adds up fast.

Yeah - the Mothership likes to explore Canadian Wallets a little deeper than you 'Mericans.  Either they prefer the look of monopoly money, or are afraid of what they'll find in the bottom of your wallets.

Good point Ron. Might also be that much cheaper for the local distributer because they are so close.

    Thank you,

Its not that cheap in all the shops around. A farmers market down the road was asking over $1k for a large with nest and mates. You have to shop around here even. Roswell hardware has a huge selection of rubs and accessories that's probably where they are making their money. Its a really cool store they have a full aisle of yeti coolers not just one high they are stacked on each other to the roof. Guessing they keep stock of all models in all colors. They easily have $20k in coolers in stock.

The pictures don't have to be any good.  Mine aren't.  Just use your phone camera and put them on here.  Heck, put the empty cans or bottles around or near the cooking surface for scale.
