    I have a bottle that I use to marinate chicken and pork.  Any other ideas???

    They sell a bottled spiedie marinade here, but it's way to salty for me.  I've played around with a couple different recipes and ended up with this:


    1 cup oil

    ¼ cup white vinegar

    2 Tbs lemon juice

    1 tsp Ground garlic

    ½ tsp Rosemary

    1 tsp Oregano

    ¾ tsp basil

    ½ tsp parsley

     Cut up chicken, pork or lamb into 1 inch cubes

    Mix all ingredients in zip lock bag and marinate overnight

    Heat grill to 450 degrees

    Place meat on skewers

    Grill for 10 – 15 minutes or until done

    Using a thick slice of Italian bread, grip the meat and slide off skewer

    Eat and enjoy

    my father in law is from endicott and thats his "go to" meal when we visit him now.... pretty good but a bit salty. He uses this

    I use that for shrimp all the time. Never thought to use it for spiedies. May have to try it next time. The recipe I posted is not very salty - no salt at all. Just the lemon and vinegar. Tastes like what I remember from my days in that area.

    Looking pretty nice. Your marinade is kinda a deluxe souvlaki marinade. The addition of rosemary, basil and parsley makes it kindmore of a Mediterranean meat on a stick, never heard the term Spiedies - as always you are a fountain of information, like the chicken and waffles you turned me on to. Thanks!
