Downside of Egg Ownership (Including mild injury)

After my Step Fathers Wake yesterday we had planned on spending some time at my moms with immediate family and a few drinks. She was too tired and the get together ended up at my house since I live the closest. What was supposed to be a "few glasses of wine" turned into everyone staying until well after dinner time. So thanks to the egg and my recently acquired pizza skills my wife said "why don't you make some pizzas for everyone"?. Thankfully I have a small family owned Italian Market a few blocks away and they have everything including dough balls for $1.50 each.
Well the egg didn't dissapoint as usual and the pizzas were great (unfortunately I still only have one rack and can only do one at a time). I was in such a rush to make the pies two things happened.......One I forgot to take pictures and two I forgot to burp the egg at 700 degrees. The pizzas were great. I grilled and sliced Italian sausage and pepperoni on some, and the others I sliced left over Italian meatballs for the toppings. Provolone cheese was the choice on all pizzas.
Well forgetting to burp the egg gave me a smooth left arm from my hand to my armpit and minor burns and discomfort but luckily nothing that needed attention. I guess next time I mix beer, wine, and Krupnik I need to slow down and be a little more careful LOL.
This sad day also happened to fall on my 21st Anniversary but the egg helped turn a sad time into a family get together and my Anniversary celebration.

Congratulations and my condolences. I don't think I could pull off a big cook like that on such short notice without burning more than my arm hair.XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE

It was just some of my immediate family, pizza for 11 people only not the entire wake. My wife gave me the idea of cutting the round pizza into squares instead of triangles and it worked out well and I kept up pretty good. One of the pizzas got away from me and the crust was a little dark but was still edible.Dearborn MI

@KenfromMI
Glad you're OK and sorry for your loss.
What is Krupnik?
What kind of rack are you thinking about for multiple pizzas? I have an AR that I think I could probably do three on, but I would have to get more stones. I'm not sure SWMBO would go for that. I'm starting to accumulate quite a bit of BBQ toys in the garage.

Krupnik is a Polish Vodka based Honey Liquor mixed with spices. My Step Father who wasn't a drinker used to buy it by the cases and give them away to everyone as a gift. Ever since he married my mom 31 years ago not one Holiday or Birthday celebration (which were all held at their house) went by that the Krupnik didn't flow freely. Anytime you did him a favor big or small you always left their house with a bottle. You can do it in shots but it is best sipped room temperature in a cordial glass. Also excellent in hot tea as it has all the necessary ingredients for the perfect Hot Toddy.Dearborn MI

As far as a rack I'm unsure. I have two pizza stones and am looking for ideas to do at least two at one time.Dearborn MI

I think the AR would certainly serve for multiple pizzas. I usually cook pizzas on the rig extender, which puts them high in the dome, but with accessories, there are 3 other levels that could be used (although using all at once would be awkward). You could definitely do 2, and probably 3, at once without much trouble.

Sorry about the Step-Dad, never a good time.Let us know how you make out with cooking "layered" pies, I have not heard of anyone with an acceptable set up. The dome heat cooks helps to cook the toppings while the stone helps cook the crust. Not sure if the upper stone provides enough reflected heat to cook the lower pie's toppings.Best solution for two at once appears to be two eggs.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Skiddy, that's why I was hoping to find someone on here, even if they cook at different times frames within a few minutes I think it would be fine or maybe the lower pizza being a cheese only or pre cooked toppings to make them done at the same time.Dearborn MI

It's a lot cheaper in Little Poland in Chicago than it is Michigan due to our high alcohol taxes. Not saying that's where we buy it because that would be dodging Michigan taxes and be illegal LOLDearborn MI
