Thank You all for your remarks - hopefully this picture will post.I got the Egg to go with a total re landscape and outdoor kitchen we are building this summer. My wife was not happy that it was GREEN since it would not fit with out "color scheme" so it is not black. I liked the green, but as you guys all know "Happy Wife - Happy Life" it worked well with Black and I can't wait for this weekend to try my old rib recipe against the new way to smoke and grill ribs. Lamb is after than - then who knows - got the big cookbook and can't wait to try them all.

Welcome and stock up on Budweiser!

Yes, we could not find high temprature paint in any color other than white or black so she wanted black since that is the color of most grills. It turned out nice though and looks good. I only painted from the bottom rim up since the rest will be hidden when we build it in.

Just a suggestion. Next time try turning the plate setter legs up and rest the aluminum pan on the plate setter, then put the standard grill on top and the chicken in the Vrack on the grill. That should give you better airflow/convection and keep you further from the hot plate setter for more uniform heat distribution. Just a thought. Welcome!XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE
