I don't know, I think I would simply oil them up and keep the patina. Nice piece of hardware.

Ospho and a wire brush is enough! My only score is the 6 feet of railroad track I use as the world's longest anvil.
XXL #82 out of the first 100, XLGE X 2, LBGE (gave this one to daughter 1.0) , MBGE (now in the hands of iloveagoodyoke daughter 2.0) and lots of toys -

If you ever want to shorten that railroad track here's the anvil I made with a piece. The base may not look sturdy per see, but it has a hidden post and beam which takes and distributes any beating I can give it. The base is also glued and then filled with sand so it never walks or talks and just takes the blows!Doc_Eggerton said:Ospho and a wire brush is enough!
