Mini cover?

So, while I was at the mothership a few weeks ago, I asked about a Mini cover. They told me that they didn't exist yet. So what do you guys have to protect yours?

For the moment, I have a trash bag draped over mine, but I definitely don't want that for the long haul...

I don't have one -yet- but if I did and had it out in the elements I'd build a wooden "dog house" out of 1x2s and 1/4 ply.

Nothing yet-my infant is under roof for now. When I bought it, they told me to try the cover that covers the egg when it sits in a table, basically a dome cover.I haven't looked into that yet.

I started covering my eggs recently after moving them to an uncovered area. Found mold in them a couple of weeks later, so now they are living outside au naturel.

Yeah, I tried to keep my XLcovered about a year (at least when I remembered to cover it) and then I realized that it really serves no purpose.so I quit covering it.

Will the handle need replacing in time if left out? Does the egg fade in color? The Cover Store online is where I got my covers for lg and med. They are mold resistant and breathable.

I apply tung oil to the wood handles to help them survive the elements.

I would worry about the metal bands rusting... I have my large and small covered. I had mold in the small at one point, but learned (on this forum) that if I leave the bottom vent open the egg can dry out and breath. Haven't had any mold issues since.

I had mold in both my small and large eggs despite leaving the vents open. This happened in November when it isn't as humid as it usually is in Houston.
