Sunday's Cook... Meat Loaf

This one is a request from my wife... Doing a meatloaf and some roasted potatoes. Like most things, I am probably going to wing most of it. Using a mix of beef, a package of beef, veal, and pork... and some hot Italian sausage, along with some onions & peppers. The little red potatoes are just going to be halved or quartered and tossed with oil and spices then roasted.
Weather is beautiful again to today... Great day to be able to be out and egging.
Pics later...

I got a good feeling about this one...
Cheddar and Guinness meatloaf. Used about 6# of meat. Some 80/20, 90/10, some beef pork veal mix, and some Italian hot sausage. Bread crumbs, 3 eggs, thyme, oregano, dried celery, salt and pepper. Sautéed garlic, one large green pepper and two onions. Mixed it all up with about a pound of shredded Cheddar. Then a good dusting of Bad Byron's.
Indirect at about 325 with a few pieces of oak for smoke.
Just sitting here enjoying the warm sun, cool breeze, and the smell of the egg doing it's thing.MSV Chill Spot

Nice cook Hap, fine looking 'loaf..SWMBO likes regular white spuds, pealed and cut in half, rubbed with Crisco and roasted - produces a really flavourful crust. Your little reds look delicious.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

You da Man, Hapster.
Just so you know, you were brought up in conversation at the Plano Eggfest and your scotch and cigars with every meal. We were all kind of wondering what your monthly cigar budget must be.

Its probably around $100 - $150, somewhere in that neighborhood. I've only ever bought two bottles of the single malt, usually sticking with the Sailor Jerry or Woodford. We rarely, maybe 3 times a year, go out for drinks or dinner... we instead spend most of the time here at home on our deck. It's cheaper than going out, the food is better, and there are no worries about driving after even a few glasses of wine. Plus, we don't have to worry about getting a sitter or who is going to watch Elise...
Since I know the owner; he lets me smoke my cigars while I'm enjoying my adult beverages)
The first cigar, the Epic, my neighbor gave me yesterday as a thank you for some bread that I sent over with some of the jambalaya I made a little while ago
