I like Texas bbq rubs. My next attempt may be salt and pepper only.

I like S&P, freshly cracked black pepper..Honestly, I love being able to cook a good brisket on the egg, folks love the flavor, ask lots of questions. I like being able to say "Salt and Pepper" - that's it..+++++++++++++++++++++++++++Austin, Texas. I'm the guy holding a beer.

No problem whats so ever. You just want to make sure you inject first and season second.GATABITES said:I am thinking of doing a brisket this weekend. I am also thinking about injecting.

I have tried a ton of rubs for both pork and brisket. I have even made my own rub. I live in Charleston and we have a BBQ restaurant that has been around for probably 50 years. It is called Melvins. Their rub is absolutely great!! I use it on everything now and buy it by the case. You can probably get it online.
