So, my I laws are coming over this weekend and I need some ideas for what I could cook... Should be around 9 people. I have already cooked a butt, ribs, and brisket for them. How do I top that?

Wow guys, hats off. Both of those look amazing! Unfortunately, MIL likes her beef charred and my better half isn't a fan of salmon. Prime rib is on my list of cooks to do very soon but I'm afraid there isn't any salmon is in my near future...SBGE December 2012 • XLBGE December 2013 • Yoder YS640 JulyLocation: Jasper, Georgia

Just give MIL the rib end or heat up some consommé on the stove and put her piece in that until it hits her temp.

How about a whole beef tenderloin. This was just the large end, but if you get the whole tenderloin, there is a thin end that will end up well done for MIL, and every degree of doneness to medium rare for everyone else. Doesn't get much better. http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/1150269/beef-tenderloin-roast-sorta-a-trex-method#latest__________________________________________It's not a science, it's an art. I went back to my bookmarks to look for ideas:Chili, deep dish pizza, beef beurginon (sp?), beef short ribs, Shepard pies, potato bacon bombs. There are many, many others, but these are some great alternatives to the old standbys.CheersB_BFinally back in the Badger State!

Wow, thanks for all of the ideas... I really like the idea of stuffed tenderloin. I think I'll go with that. Will be easier to cook one hunk of meat to one temperature. Thanks to all!!!SBGE December 2012 • XLBGE December 2013 • Yoder YS640 JulyLocation: Jasper, Georgia
