Epic fail weekend

Friday night my korean burgers turned out horrible. The only reason I didn't throw them in the garbage was the Nashville Predators called and needed more hockey pucks. Still determined to cook i made or attempted to make pizzas. The dough came out flatter than the Oklahoma landscape. On top of all that I picked up a bottle of Islay scotch only to find it taste like the time I passed out in the flower bed and woke with a mouthful of mulch. Needless to say my neighbor received a free bottle of scotch. I'll stick with the Highlands.
Still, had fun and learned a lot. Football and PBR and golf with Jake saved the weekend.

A fellow I used to work with was a major Scotch afficianado. Could identify 9 out of ten different bottles by taste. I'd had a few different single malts, and asked him what was his favorite. He replied Laphroaig, but mentioned that many would find the taste overpowering. I suppose I should have thought about that when I bought a bottle of 10 year. I have to admit that while I did eventually finish the bottle, I never acquired a taste for it.
As for pizzas, tho' my wife says mine are OK, I'm consistently disappointed. I suspect I would have to get as big as a house eating my failures before I finally figured out all the ways I can screw up.

That was the exact brand I bought. The familyscarfs tthe pizzas down but I'm not happy with them.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

the only way to acquire a taste for Laphroaig is to drink a bottle of mcClellands islay first
) it tastes like someone was putting out cheap cigars for a week in a sifter of Laphroaig you should have just kept it on the shelf, you seem to aquire the taste of different scotches as time goes on. scotch has been strange for me, i simply cant stand an ice cube or more than say a drop of water in a glass
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
Henapple, remember I said I poured it down the drain? I would not even give it to anyone I know. SMs are so unique in taste.

No worries, bro. Dust yourself off and live to egg again!About the scotch - Laphroaig is an acquired taste for many. I'm not too much of a fan of the very peaty scotches either, but like them every once in a while to shake things up. There's plenty of choice out there, so stick to your (scotch) guns and try as many as you can!#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

a lot of people depressed about their pizzas, what would you say is the biggest disappointment? My problem was raw doughy tasting crust and I think I figured out the secret...
