Trying to get an idea of how many Eggers use a plate setter vs. how many use some other contraption + a drip pan filled with water for their smoking. I am trying to decide in which method I should invest as a new Egger.
80% of my BGE use will be slow & low ribs, butts, shanks, that damn rabbit in my garden, etc.
My daughter named my Egg Shrek, because it is big, green, and burps.

West coast retail for large Platesetter is $99.99. Alternative, CGS large spider $24.99, 13" ceramic stone $35.99, add the 13" CI grid from BGE for $51.99. A total of $112.97 vs. $99.99 and you have more flexability with the spider set up, even though it's a little more. Wear gloves when handling the rabbit...you don't want to get tularemia. It's fine after cooking.

Plate setter with a drip pan. I like to add water and some onion slices to the drip pan - although I can't say with any certainty that it helps.

I use a plate setter and a drip pan when needed, but I just bought one when I bought my egg. If I had done more research I might have gone the woo with stone route,

I use a Woo2 with a stone for indirect.

Take a look around at this place before buying accessories. Good toys and very well made.
If you expand the use of your BGE, and you will, the Woo is nice because it provides the ability to use raised direct, or lower cooking close to the fire for searing.
For low and slow, no water needed. A shallow foil line drip pan for high fat items.
