Sounds like a plan!!

I've never heard of this stuff."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike
-
@SLOandSteady - I would be interested! I'm just south of Denver.
-
I could be persuaded to take 5 or so in Centennial.
-
I'm in for 5 bags as well.
-
This is exactly how this whole company and brand started........Me getting some other local Eggheads together to save money on great charcoal. Over the course of seven years it evolved into a full blown charcoal company, now with the #1 brand on The Naked Whiz's website.
I cannot / do not really sell individual bags anymore, but I really enjoy shipping charcoal to a group buy......takes me back to my roots in charcoal. Thanks for the good feelings!
-
Looks like we would have around 10 of the 30 bags accounted for. I (we) would still need to determine a shipping location, payment routine, and a date. Keep the interest and ideas coming!
-
I'd be willing to take a couple more if it would help push it through. I think the guys at Rockwood have a place up in Henderson they would deliver to and we could just go there to pick it up.
Looks like more than 10 accounted for unless someone only wants a couple bags? -
I would take 4 or 5 so we're around 15 plus however many you want @SLOandSteady.@MightyQuinn - are you still in Colorado? Any interest?
-
I'm thinking at least 5, but possibly 10 bags for myself. We could always go up to two pallets if needed. I called John today and he's checking into where the hub is for the shipper he uses.
-
Guys, the cheapest carrier to CO is Vitran Express.......their depot is at:
Henderson, CO 80640I could just tell them to hold it at the depot and you would have a few days to go pick it up. You would have to pick it up all at once though, they're probably not going to let you guys pick up 5 bags at a time over two days. -
Looks like we have enough people to bring in a pallet. What's the next step?
-
Thanks for the information. I'm guessing Friday or Saturday would probably be best for the day of the week that we would need to pick-up the bags. How does middle of July sound to everyone? Perhaps July 18 or July 19?
-
20th is a Saturday, that would work best for me but I could make the 19th work also.
-
Guys, just give me about 3-4 business days notice. It should only take 2 business days to get there; however, if you want it there on a certain day, it would be best to know at least 4 days ahead of time so we can time the pick up just right.
We'll be able to track it, then you'll get a call from Vitran Express when it's ready for delivery (or pickup at Henderson if that's still the plan.)
-
July 18 19 or 20 would work for me.
-
Let me call Vitran Express to make sure they are open on Saturdays.
-
I'm good any day that week. out of town the following week.
-
Okay. Spoke to Vitran Express and they are open M-F; 9:00AM MST - 5:00PM MST. Lets gun for the Friday date. Below is a recap of who has committed to bags with quantity. Still need more bags to be spoken for.
- sloandsteady (5); (10 if needed)
- spaightlabs (5)
- coegger (5)

I am an island - don't know any other eggers, though I seem to know a lot of freeloading sonofaguns that sure eat a lot of egg food...
-
I can take whatever's left to fill out the pallet...looks like 5 bags?
-
19th sounds good, I can take a couple extra bags if needed.
-
[Update] - Let's go ahead and lock-in Friday, July 19. The hours for pick-up would be anytime from 9:00AM MST - 5:00PM MST. Ideas on how to handle to payment portion of the group buy? Below is an updated recap of who has committed to bags with quantity and price. Let me know if this looks right. $500 Per Pallet. 30 bags Per Pallet. $500 / 30 Bags = $16.67 / 20lb. Bag. Thanks!
- sloandsteady (8); ($16.67 x 8 = $133.36)
- spaightlabs (5); ($16.67 x 5 = $83.35)
- coegger (5); ($16.67 x 5 = $83.35)
- jvav (7); ($16.67 x 7 = $116.69)
- mighty_quinn (5); ($16.67 x 5 = $83.35)

Sounds good. We either all PayPal or send a check to Stlcharcoal. If we pay pal, gotta add 3% for their skim. I'm good with what the group decides.
-
Paypal or check is fine for me as well.
-
Sounds good. We should all use the same verbiage in the "Memo" of "For" section of the check. Perhaps "Colorado Group Buy". Also, we should self-impose a deadline for having the checks to John. Thoughts?
-
Whatever is easier for you guys. Just tack on $3 each to cover the fees if you want to do PayPal.
Let me double check with the shipper to make sure that quote is still accurate.
-
For what its worth - I cooked on it 3 times this weekend. Definately like it so far.Cookin in Texas
-
I'm good with PayPal or check, whichever is decided...could someone in the thread please keep me posted via pm though? i'm not really on the forum much anymore and with pm I'll get an email...thx. If needed, I can haul peeps bags down to Denver/ south metro from Henderson...
-
I'm ok with PayPal or check, too. Also can bring some down for others if needed - how does the pickup work at the depot? Will we have to meet at the same time?? I'm in Highlands Ranch...
