I had a guy tell me that he soaks chips in sugar water. it will caramelize the meat and put a sweet coating on it. I really dont see how this would do that, I wouldn't think there would be enough sugar on them? I didnt want to say that sounds wrong to me, but I wonder if anyone can tell me different, not to tell him he is wrong, just really for my knowledge. thanks.

How do you cook a "big foot"?

I would think your smoke would just get really acrid. Put sugar on your meat instead.

Never heard of the sugar thing. As far as Big Foot goes, Sasquatch can't be as tasty as Loch Ness Nelly!Flint, Michigan

Just go out and get some real Mead for soaking. Honey liquor. Not only sweet, but the vapors will infuse a great buzz in the meat. Try some of that on white meat chicken, and you'll never go back!

So more bad smoke to add to the creosote that the soaked chips caused?Love smoking chicken...but they are hard to keep lit ;-) http://daveyrayland.wordpress.com/ Small Egg / Weber OTG 22" / CharGriller Trio / Masterbuilt 30" Electric

Beat me to it! Maybe the guy is a florist, some will tell you to put cut flowers in sugar water so they "suck" more of it up. Maybe he thinks his chips will grow, kinda like Viagra for wood chips.Little Steven said:You boyz are missing this. BGE: No soaking needed. Nuff said
