Just curious, what does everyone use as spacers between the drip pan and the plate setter for low and slow cooks?

I use my ceramic BGE feet but rolled up balls of foil will work too.SpringramSpring, TexasLBGE and Mini

But a cookie cooling rack. They cost about $10 or less and are perfect.

You need a spacer? I didn't have any and usually, just set the pan on the platesetter. Maybe I'm missing something here.

If you don't space the drip pan off the stone you get heat conduction to the pan from the platesetter which gets hotter than the ambient air temp in the egg due to radiant heat from the lump. Your fat and drippings will scorch and leave an acrid smell/taste

Did it help that I foil the pan? Maybe it reduces the heat conduction? I've never had to put a spacer and so far, have never had issue with it.

Anything to get air between the pan and the setter.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

if u have 3 pieces of small stack stone laying around that will work. That's what I use and it works great!

I just use 3 - 4 rolled up bits of aluminum foil. Cheap and easy.

I have been "in violation" of the rules, because i am allowing the dripping to burn up when hitting the foil i have laying on top of the platesetter............
