What a weekend!  Missingtoof (fellow egghead forum member) and his family came on over to Birmingham for the BBVA Compass Bowl between Ole Miss and Pitt.  In celebration (mostly him, ROLL TIDE) of the Ole Miss whoopin they put on Pitt, we decided to go CRAZY on the egg.  Picked up some chicken wings for the kids, and some ribeyes for the big people.  The ladies got 3 whimpy 1" thick steaks, and missingtoof and I picked out a 2 bone, 4lb rib roast that would be cut into two, 2" thick, bone in ribeyes!  Also, I had 3lbs of Royal Red shrimp that came from Bon Secour, AL straight off the shrimp boat and those went on the egg as well.  After a 1 hour ish indirect of the chicken wings, we threw the shrimp on indirect at 250.  If y'all havent had Royal Reds, these shrimp are sweeter than any lobster or snow crab you could ever eat, and they were excellent on the egg. Then, while the wives whipped up some creamy beans and shrooms, some asparagus cassarole, and a few baked potatoes, we fired the egg on up to 800 plus.  Got a nice sear going on the steaks, and then shut it down with a couple chunks of mesquite.  Everything turned out spectacular, especially the steaks, which melted in your mouth!  Nothing compares to how this grill can do a big a.. steak!  Great weekend with great friends.  Can't wait to do it again!
