Well after years of wanting and praying I was lucky enought to get a xl bge for Christmas. I also got a nest, plate setter, ash tool and bge lump with it. I have cooked baby backs, huli huli chicken, chilli, beer bread and bacon cinnamon roles. All have turned out great. I have been smoking on a WSM over the last seven years. My go to grill has been a 26" weber kettle.
The funny thing is that the wife wont let me get rid of those.....not yet anyway. She says I need to prove to her thar the food off the egg tastes as good, or better before I can sell them. I have several people who want the WSM, but I am fine if I keep them also. I just know I wont be using them as frequently anymore. Glad to be here and looking forward to posting my triumphs and failures as they come.

These cooks look great! Congrats on the XL, my wife was the exact opposite as soon as we bought the Large she sold my grill and we then had to wait for the delivery.DavidBBQ since 2010 - Oh my, what I was missing.

Welcome! You'll be able to sell those other grills in no time. Thanks, Mike "Live in such a way that if anyone should speak badly of you, no one will believe it."

Sell your other grills/smokers before they rust. You won't need them anymore.XL,L,SWinston-Salem, NC

I have a very similar background. 8 years on a WSM and charcoal grill, then got my XL egg a few years back. Never used my WSM or charcoal grill again, not even once, and I loved my WSM. I still think it's a really good smoker but there's just no need for it with the egg.Ribs and cinnamon rolls look great!Packerland, Wisconsin

Looks great! Did you say "BACON cinnamon rolls"?!?!?! Care to explain that a little more?
-
Thats my thoughts...sell before they rust out etc. The guy that wants the wsm wants a lesson though....he loves my que...so I would like to add another to the bbq world. I was thinking of keeping the 26" kettle for large parties but also selling the weber e320 gas grill. I used it once last year and that was for hot dogs....expensive hot dog maker lol!

Yep just partially cook some bacon then pat dry with paper towel. Un-roll the cinnamon roll from the paper tube and place bacon in the cinnamon roll and cook per directions on the tube. Really easy and tastes great.

Sounds awesome. I will definitely try those out sometime.

I've never heard or thought about bacon cinnamon rolls. Great idea! Will try.
If its not memorable, its not worth doing.

Wish I created it...but I did not... but will definitely learn to perfect them...

Congrats on the BGE! I too received a nice present from Santa (wife & kids) for Christmas. First thing I smoked were ribs (Teriyaki, Mesquite & Jerk). All say the ribs were the most tender, moist that I have ever grilled, uh... smoked. :-) Have smoked Turkey legs, beer butt chicken and Fired Up Chicken wings thus far. Soooo looking forward to smoking my first brisket.
