How do you get a carriage return on the iphone and the ipad. Return never starts a new paragraph.thanks

    Set up a shortcut in settings/keyboard. Just like the double space for the "."

    The above lines were typed on an iPad and you'll notice that there are spaces. To do it type the following characters without the spaces in between any of the letters or symbols: < B R > < B R > Those characters, once again minus the spaces, give you a double carriage return. I still put in the regular carriage returns to make it easier to read on screen while I'm composing a message. Also please note those characters won't do anything until you actually post it and then you will see the carriage returns. Very odd and I really can't believe these guys can't fix their software so it works correctly with the most popular tablet computer and one of the major smartphones.

    I haven't noticed the issue on my iphone.

    I click return and I see CRs as I'm typing.

    Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

    It has always been a hit or miss for me and lately more miss that hit.

    I see them as I type, but then the forum formats to all be the same line/paragraph, like above where Pitt was quoted....his three separate lines were reformatted to be one.

    Just playing, but this has been popping up almost every day for the past week and it always seems to be an Apple mobile device. Perhaps it's not playing well with vanilla right now.
