Hello EggHeads. Well finally got the BGE, I am stoked. I've cooked some chicken breasts, pork tenderloin and pork ribs and it was great. I had no issues with adjusting the heat. I'm looking forward to the larger items like Boston butt, and brisket. Trust me I'll be reading the forums. Until then good cooking.

Thanks and I've already taken a bunch of pix but I see you cannot add pictures from an iTouch? Odd but posted them on Facebook at hopkinsusmc87. This weekend is beef ribs. I have jacked them up on a standard smoker so I'm excited about using the BGE.

@hopkinsusmc87 there is no way to learn brisket cooking, but cooking briskets. So be prepared to have great, mediocre and bad in no certain order.You can get a lot of tips on this board and some of those tips will contradict each other. Stick with it and you will figure it out for yourself.

I agree cooking is the true way to learn and I only seek pointers from the forums. I've done a lot of brisket and like you stated it has been good and real bad. I'm excited about being able to control the heat at a consistent level for long periods of time as with a side smoker I was forever jacking with it. But thanks for the feedback.
