Ever ship anything? Father's Day is a week from tomorrow. My Dad would love a low and slow boneless pork shoulder. I' m thinking time the cook to be completed such that I drop off a small cooler at Fed Ex just before the deadline and they get it to him next morning. Anybody ever successfully pull that off?

    Dry ice.
After re-reading; you are not thinking of shipping hot I hope. Please do not ship unless cold. On hot if very well packed in chest with towels you are pushing it with a 4 hour window (3 is better if you are holding temp).

Yep. Was thinking of shipping hot. Now. I'm not. But. I wanted to. That's why I asked. So the the plan becomes to cook it, pull it or not, cool it, seal and pack. And then ship. I'm thinkin' pull while hot vs. reheat and pull. Perhaps then freeze and then pack. Still not sure.

Pull while hot and seal like you said. Freeze and pack/send and he can heat up ( don't forget some sauce on the side). I can't think of a better gift man. Wow.
I am sure you were going to pack in meal size bags so the gift will last.

Mickey has got you covered. Good plan. A few fun sides would be cool do. Really good idea. Tell him to reheat by dropping the food saver bags in warm water. It's a great way to reheat Q without drying it out.
