What to do with extra Medium BGE?

I snapped up a medium back when Costco briefly carried them.  It was going to be for someone else, but it turned out they didn't want it.  I have a large that I'm happy with, and I don't think a medium has enough cooking real estate for my tastes...so the medium has been sitting here, new in the box (which I opened immediately, just to verify it was all there and in the correct number of pieces).  I don't think I can justify a LBGE and MBGE...so, unless someone in the central FL area is interested, I think I'm going to take it back to Costco...where I'm sure someone will get a deal on it (being that it's been opened).

what do you want/need for it.  My parents live in Sebring, if the price is right, maybe.......

Costco's price on it was $579.99 + 6% tax, so $614.79 is what I'll get if I return it.

Sebring is nearly a straight shot 100 miles south of me.

I'm really curious what they'll mark it down to.  If I saw it on the sales floor again at $400, I'd be tempted to re-buy it....though still not sure what I'd use it for.

Odd thing is, the Costco where I bought it briefly had a Vision BGE-copy after they sold the BGEs...but even those only lasted a few weeks and then were gone.  I wonder if those too were from an unauthorized channel.

Dude, i'm sure you are a good guy but damn. I just don't understand this mindset where you buy stuff, return it when it's in perfectly good order, then hope to rebuy it at a deep discount even though you still don't need it. As a former retailer and a guy who sells to retailers now, you are the guy we all build protective measures against when we design policy and the reason the rest of us get hassled when we have legitimate concerns with a retailer. C'mon man!

  • I just cooked two 7lb pork shoulders from Costco on a medium. There's lots of room for food. And it's a great compliment to a large.

Isn't have an "extra egg" kind of like your wife asking if you have any "extra money", to which I reply "there is no such thing".
