White soot. Should I be concerned?

This is the result of cooking on Publix Greenwise Lump charcoal. Not only was it slow to light, heavy on the sparks, and short lived, but now I find this after I clean up the next day. Ugh! Thankfully, it wipes off just as easy as the black stuff.
Have you every seen this? I've only use 1 bag of lump prior to this. It was BGE brand. It had black soot.
I finally took the plunge and bought my large Big Green Easter Egg from Roswell Hardware in Roswell, GA 03/31/2012

Ha! Nice Little SteveThe white stuff is normal after a hot cook (at least that's when I really notice in on mine). Wipe it off and fire it up again.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

Don't laugh, that cooktop, my wife's choice, is why I have an egg.I finally took the plunge and bought my large Big Green Easter Egg from Roswell Hardware in Roswell, GA 03/31/2012 -
I have one (came with the house). I refuse to use it unless absolutely necessaryYou are getting white soot from your induction cooktop?

That would be a cast iron pizza pan. Unlike stone, it wouldn't shatter when juices spill over onto it.$35 and free Prime shipping for that is when I can't agree to pay for a 9 inch high-que grate.I finally took the plunge and bought my large Big Green Easter Egg from Roswell Hardware in Roswell, GA 03/31/2012 -
Son,
Some of your posts are kind out there. Possibly a little anal. When stike helped you out when you didn't know how to use the daisy you corrected him as soon as he gave you an explanation. I mean no offense by this but I would suggest you can't come off as a newb and an expert at the same time. I love my induction unit BTW

I really don't know where I ever came off as an expert. I want it to be so clear that I am a newb that I put my date of purchase in my signature.Son,

You think I'm correcting him here?I say, "Thank you. That makes so much sense. I would like to adjust my thinking to use this analogy. That should make the decision making easier."Even earlier tonight I posted, "Thanks again for a perfect explanation. I need that kind of info to learn and retain it."I said "again" because I think of Stike's explanation of the Daisy Wheel as perfect. You have a very high standard for humility. I strive for humility. It's a little disconcerting to get a reply like this.I finally took the plunge and bought my large Big Green Easter Egg from Roswell Hardware in Roswell, GA 03/31/2012 -
looks to me like the underside of a drip pan, flipped over.
if you had no ash on TOP of the thing, i wouldn't worry. try a little Barkeepr's Friend if you need it

Thanks @stike,I didn't have any problems getting it clean. It wiped off with a wet paper towel. I just never saw it with BGE lump, even at pizza temps.I finally took the plunge and bought my large Big Green Easter Egg from Roswell Hardware in Roswell, GA 03/31/2012

was it the first time you used the new pan?
could have been something on it

I get that white ash after a hot cook or burn out. It just wipes off if it's the same stuffKeepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX
