I was just driving and listing to AM radio here in Central Texas and heard a advertisement for a local BBQ store. The whole message was about the BGE. I dont think I have ever heard or seen a public advertisement except for a small poster in a few air ports. Kinda cool.

Have you guys ever seen or herd any others? Most of my friends have never heard about an egg. I bet BGE could benefit from some more publicity.
Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

The last time I listened to AM radio, Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry was the #1 hit.   :-?

I've often wondered the same thing Travis. Rarely hear anything about the BGE. Alot of people have no idea what it is or does. Mentioned it to someone yesterday and they said yeah I saw one at academy. Nope!

I had a conversation with someone last week, who went to a BBQ given by a friend.  He said that the guy cooked steaks on a BGE, and the steaks were nothing special.  Further discussion showed the cook was all dome up like a gasser.  Some people just don't know how to use them.

My 85 year old neighbor drives a Porsche to the grocery store. Never seen it get over 25 mph. Kind of the same thing as cooking with the lid up all the time on the Egg. They both are a tremendous waste of resources.

Depends on the quality of the shorty (Shorty= female companion for those over 40) your 85 year old neighbor has in the passenger seat of that Porsche!

Have a local store that put up a huge billboard on the highway advertising that they sell the BGE.  I'll try to take a picture next time we pass by it.

That is definitely a waste of resources then. Porsche has been helping older gentlemen...ahem....... acquire companionship since the beginning of the brand. Nothing clearly states "I may be old but I had 100G for a car and you are hot and shallow"  more than old dude in Porsche. I have nothing against this tactic by the way. If I have 100G disposable when I"m 85, it ain't going to the kids! Step right up ladies! Just merely an observation.

+1 on this if I can out-live my old lady!

Dome up is a good way to restrict the cook to purely searing, like for a Trex cook

    Dome shut, it also roasts.

I dont Trex myself, but of those who do, many go dome open for the sear portion of the cook
