How many racks of spare ribs have you guys done at one time on a large (standard ~3lb spare racks)? I've done 4 racks no problem, but was curious how many I could get on at one time and still have a good cook?
With my 4 rack cooks, I typically cut each rack in half and go vertical. Although if I'm saucing at the end, I usually put it flat on the grid for the final part of the cook. The four racks (er, 8 half racks) fills up the entire grid.
I'm having some people over this weekend and want to do ribs, but I'd love to get it all done in one cook.

I did 4 racks (8 half racks) my first day with the LBGE. It was a tight fit, but I recon I could do at least 6 now that I know what I'm doing with a second grid set up. Maybe 8 full racks at once with some luck.

Go multiple levels. I've done 6 full racks of BB's easily. I once saw a pic of somebody's cook where they took out the top ceramic ring, and cooked a whole bunch -- wanting to say 12 or more full racks. They used a platesetter, then grid, and used the sides of the egg to help vertically hold up the ribs. It was quite impressive.XL BGE - Large BGE - Small BGE - Traeger Lil' Tex Elite - Weber Smokey Joe

There was a guy that posted like ten racks on one level several years ago. They were rolled up like wrapping paper and tied I believe

(sorry)...rib cook this weekend myself. Thanks in advance.

wow, I would try that, but the thought of buying so many ribs hurts me inside.
I'm thinking you could keep the racks separated the right distance if you used skewers to stand them up. That would be how I would do it.

adjustable rig, offset cooking. 2 weber rib racks, 8-10 racks of ribs in my large. Do 6 on the regular.

one dude had 18 or 20 slabs (a slab is the full run of ribs, a rack is a smaller portion cut from the whole slab) standing on edge. he'd open it once in a while and flop them from one side t another, and said he got plenty of smoke on them
