Hot today, I was thirsty. Lipton sun tea hits the spot. Pull up a chair, I'll pour you one.
Ok let's set all seriousness aside so I can get down to monkey business. Fired up the small(love that cooker)for sirloin burger deluxe. 4 quarter pounders getting a sear.
Treat steak like steak I say. Now to roast indirect to finish. I'm skeptical about the rumors of umami and the 5th taste sense. Bunch of hullabaloo. Right now I'm thinking wish I did not add that goofy sauce to the beautiful expensive ground sirloin.
Say cheese.
Toasting my buns.
Stacked and ready. Takes two hands to tackle a big delux....
OH BOY! Excellent! I'm sold!

Looks awesome from here! Going to indirect is something I hadn't thought about, will have to try that one!
-
Bingo Little Chef! I have Golden Boy Fish Sauce, top shelf stuff. he he he
I won't say anything to Bubba Tim. -
Only 4 burgers. But that's enough for me and the Queen Bee. Two leftover for tomorrow cause I'm not cookin. I gotta give my eggs a break, let them cool off.
Speaking of....hope you are stayin cool, I see there's been some nasty hot dust storms in your neck of the desert. Not good for ridin motorcycles, or anything else. -
Clay: I am a sole purchaser of Three Crabs. I will look for the Golden Boy to compare. Is it actually called Golden Boy? The 'Three Crabs' has a pic of 3 crabs on the label. I love the stuff!!! Will look for your brand with a bit more info please?

Awesome Burger!...my mouth is watering!

That is an awesome looking burger, Clay! Now I want one for dinner, after just saying I was going to eat healthy tonight. Would never have thought about using fish sauce in a burger.

i tried the expensive italian sauce awhile back, colatura? i think the three crabs is better. will have to try the italian stuff on something other than burgers but for now i dont get it  clayq, fish sauce is great stuff, burgers, chicken, tritips, porkloin, even add it to tuna steaks. burger looks greatfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Beautiful!

Three Crabs is good stuff from what I read. I'm told it's all the same but you and I like the best. There are about 5 brands that are good but like wine have subtle differences. I feel better LC, knowing that you use fish sauce because you are the expert on good eating. I'm new to Umami cookin.
Golden Boy Fish Sauce
Company statement;
Ingredients; Classic and natural.
Thumbs up!

Now I am kicking myself in the Arse! I did burgers last night (sirloin/chuck mix) and completely forgot the fish sauce. It's sitting in my fridge. Oh well. Your burgers look good Clay!

clayq, check the red boat fish sauce thread over on the brethren forum. seems it's "top shelf".
http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=110546&highlight=fish+sauce
i haven't gotten mine yet, but i ordered one of each. -
I checked it out. Thanks for the link. I remember Red Boat as one of the recommended brands.
Now that I got a start with Fish Sauce I'll keep on using it for meats, marinades and sauces and hope flavors will jump.
Thanks again Jason. Let us know what you think of the sauces when you cook with them.
