Anyone have luck buying pizza dough from your local pizzaria? If so how did you do it, and how much do you pay for a dough ball?

How did I do it? I just asked. It was a local place though, not a chain. Pizza Hut might balk - but who cares?! I think it was about $2.50 per dough ball. Haven't bought one in a while.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

We paid $.99 per dough ball that makes a 22 inch thin crust pizza from a pizzeria in Bowling Green, Ky. We took them home and froze them. As we needed them we would take one out to thaw and divided in half and placed each half in a bowl sprayed with cooking oil and covered with cellophane and placed in the oven with the light on...

If you have a Whole Foods Market in the area they will sell you the dough at the counter that sells pizza by the slice. You can get ready to use dough balls or frozen for later use.

You can also buy a case of frozen dough balls at your local Sam's Club (if you have one). Just go to the counter up front where they sell the pizzas and soda, and ask the cashier. I paid $15.88 for a case of (20) 24oz dough balls.BJ (Powhatan, VA)

Which pizza place in BG?

Darian, I was thinking. Consider placing your dough balls in a large enough bowl or you may have a mess on your hands in the oven. Maybe a bowl in a cookie sheet. Don't ask me how I know. No but the dough did rise up over the edge of the bowl.

If you get their dough I found out they bake their pies at 525F and 6 to 7 min's. That worked for me in my large as well. -
I got a box of the Sam's dough balls last week. We have done 2 on the egg and 2 in the oven. I think these are the answer i've been looking for. (Easy and good.)

I think I will try this one. My local pizzaria said no to selling their dough balls.
