medium size egg vs large egg

I want to get my husband an egg for his birthday....tomorrow.
Should I get the medium or the large. It is usually just us two, sometimes the two teenagers eat at home, but not usually. We also have friends over quite a bit and like to do chicken thighs or ribs. Please give me some advice if you can. My husband currently uses a gas grill, and is a great cook.

Get a large. I do limited cookimg but enjoy the space it offers..
-
Large. The extra space is nice. More accessories available for it as well. THE most popular size.
Welcome to the forum! Stick around - lots of friendly, helpful folks here!!
Happy New Year!!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I would get a large. The extra space is nice, and it has the most Eggcessory options. It is very versatile. The cost difference should not be too drastic either.

You can do a bunch on a medium. BGE offers a grid with colapsable legs, adding another level. Or there is the ceramicgrillstore.com., which has some very fine products to choose from.Molly

Large,, you'll probably add a small down the road
-
Get him the large. I have a medium and large and would get rid of the medium first.
-
What ever size you get one accessory you need for sure is a platesetter. Have to have it for indirect cooking.
-
My bias opnion is for you and your husband to get a large egg because there are so many options and eggcessories. If you don't beleive me just ask me.
Happy New Year to you and your family. Tim -
Go large - no question about it!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time!

I have had mine for over a year. Get the large. It is the most popular size. You will not regret it.
-
I suggest a medium. I live alone and a medium is too big for me so I added a mini, one week later. I love that combo. More versatile than one large.
-
No, Never. I added a mini and love the versatility of the two. I live alone but often have company sharing my cooks.

My issue with my medium is with ribs. It can only handle 2 racks of ribs flat and to do 3 I have to use my large v rack which I hate because you have to flip and rotate the ribs because they don't cook uniformly in a v rack. With the large I can put on the rack extender and easily put 3 racks flat with room to spare. Also with briskets your pretty much stuck cooking flats since full packers barely fit in the large.

Get a large. I went through the same thought process and bought a medium. Wish I had gone with large from day one. They are more versatile.

The grid with the collapsible legs is a royal PIA. Hard to set up and even tougher to remove when it is hot. I'm thinking of a Woo ring or building up another grid with bolts.LBGE AR SMALL BGE WOO RING

I have a medium, but sometimes I wished I have gotten a large. Can't go wrong with a large.
-
Get the large, then you can add a small or a medium down the road

Whats the total cook time you can get out of a medium with a full box of lump?
-
low and slow .. forgot to mention that.
-
I have done several 16-18 hr cooks on my med and there was still some lump left after the cooks.

I have a medium, for the two of us it is excellent. We often cook for up to 6 with it. If you need to cook for more than 6 on a regular basis, the large is a better choice.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!
