Dating an Egg?

Does anyone know if there is a way to determine the age of an Egg? I have one that was my dads, and I know it isn't old enough to be clay, it is ceramic and very similar to the current eggs. Didn't know if anyone knew what the casting marks meant, or if there was a way to date it from them??

    Count the smoke rings.

...I'm sorry, that was a terribly lame joke :P

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

If it's still all "original" the band design can get you within a couple of first egg had the "auto lock" hinge/band..little yellow handle that you had to move to close the dome....and that was in early 2001..
