Dating an Egg?

Does anyone know if there is a way to determine the age of an Egg? I have one that was my dads, and I know it isn't old enough to be clay, it is ceramic and very similar to the current eggs. Didn't know if anyone knew what the casting marks meant, or if there was a way to date it from them??

Thanks.
